Mac, Linux & Steam Deck — playable, not native
The Steam minimum spec lists Windows only, so there is no native Mac or Linux client. You can still play on those machines through a translation layer: CrossOver or Proton on Mac, and Proton on Linux. These are unofficial — expect the occasional Visual C++ runtime hiccup rather than a guaranteed clean launch. The Steam Deck runs it (including the OLED), but it is not Deck Verified yet; controllers work for navigation and the hunt phase, while the paint tool really wants a trackpad or attached mouse for precise pointer control.
Want it on a TV or phone screen anyway?
Steam Link / Remote Play lets you stream your own copy from your PC to a TV, phone, or tablet on your network. That is your single copy on another screen — it is not a way to share one purchase for simultaneous online play. For a real squad you still need one Steam copy per player.
