Meccha Chameleon Wiki

Paint yourself into the scenery and win hide-and-seek. Your complete guide to every map, mechanic and mode.

Meccha Chameleon (めっちゃカメレオン) is the viral paint hide-and-seek game from solo Japanese developer lemorion_1224 — sometimes searched as mecca chameleon or mecha chameleon. Hiders are white chameleons who hand-paint their bodies to match the room and freeze into a pose, while seekers patrol the stage looking for the one shape that does not belong. It launched on Steam on June 9, 2026 for $5.99 and crossed a million sales in its first days.

This is the complete chameleon-hide-and-seek wiki: how to play, hider and seeker strategy, the paint tool and eyedropper, every map and hiding spot, all the controls, and the answers to the questions players actually ask — like whether it is on console or mobile (it is PC / Steam only).

Game modes

Source: modes.json
Normal 2 to 4 Seekers win by finding every Hider before the timer hits zero; Hiders win if even one is still hidden when time runs out.
Increasing Oni 6 to 10 Seekers try to convert everyone; the last Hider still hidden wins (last-one-standing).
Double 4 to 8 Everyone hides first, then everyone hunts; each player takes a turn on both sides. The side that clears fastest comes out ahead (a race, not a standoff).
